Transform World e-Newsletter :: January 2007
 | | Volume 1, Year 2007 | | Many things have taken place in the Transform World movements, since Transform World Indonesia, May 1-5, 2005. These united transformation movements have contributed to a significant synergizing impact in a growing number of nations. We couldn’t really know the full potential of what is happening in many lives, but we believe that whatever could be shared on what God is doing, needs to be shared (1 John 1:3). God’s work needs to be shared, we need to encourage one another and thus strengthen His body as a whole, as together this body glorifies God more fully. At the same time, as we continue to listen on what He is doing, may we be enabled to further discern the way & the directions of His work today; and how we can participate more fully in the work of His Spirit. This electronic newsletter is planned to be issued monthly on the second week of the month. This first issue is thus like opening the first page of a book, that needs to be further filled in by God’s people who are experiencing His gracious transformational works. God is working incredibly in various stages of Transform World movements. May these brief, humble reports help us to connect, to write, to share & to bless others. And a powerful king came against it, surrounded it and built huge siegeworks against it. Now there lived in that city a man poor but wise, and he saved the city by his wisdom. But nobody remembered that poor man. God never questions our ability or inability; He only questions our willingness. God has key persons in cities to be transformers for their cities so that breakthrough can happen in the cities until they are won with the love of Christ and are filled with the glory of God. Those key persons are called transformation agents or transformers. We must seek God’s wisdom so that our cities and nations are released from the devil’s hands that attack and destroy, thus our cities and nations can be won for the Kingdom of God. In Song of Songs 9:14-15, we read s testimony of a poor man who could save his city. He was neither rich nor famous; he was only a man encouraged himself to change the dangerous situation of the city. He was a man who cared and loved his city. He was a man who had God in his life. That is the kind of person who can be called as a city transformer. John Knox said, “Give me Scotland or I die!” Let us have brimming love and passion in our heart for our cities and nations. So, we can be history makers not only spectators. In transformation, there are five things that God likes us to implement, so we can be transformers according to His wills, which are: 1. Humility Humility is a condition of accepting what is taking place, surrendering and obeying what takes place in our life. If we are obedient, there is nothing else except thankfulness that comes out from our mouths. We have to be people that humble ourselves sincerely because there are also people who humble themselves for specific purposes and intentions. As in 2 Chronicles 7:14, the humility that needs to be understood in the process of a transformation is to humble oneself to God and others. God promises, if we humble ourselves, pray and seek His face, He will restore our nation. This is the time for us to humble ourselves to God and pray for our nations to be restored. Churches must make reconciliation to create unity but each church must be humble to create reconciliation. Denominations that exist now are very hard to be removed because it needs humility due to the law of vertical and horizontal, in which if we can humble ourselves before God for transformation, we must also humble ourselves before others so that unity of the body of Christ can be materialized in spite of the differences, and churches can be unified on transformation. 2. Wholeheartedly Faith The manifestation of a sincere faith is to be His holy temple. Let us not make a sincere faith a mere word, just to receive blessings, and only for our self-interest, therefore it becomes a problem or a stumbling stone 3. Holiness We must live a holy life. Holiness is God’s standard for His children. Holiness means to be separated from the world and belong to God only so that we can impart the peace and see Him. (Heb 12:14). 4. Unity The foundation of unity is to love each other sincerely. So, we gather not because of relationship but communion. If God give us vision so that we can get the reach of a further vision, there is no other way; there must be a unity. As servants of God, we must help each other in ministry, let us not do it alone. Surely there is risk, which means our individual interest needs to be abandoned and we have to start prioritize group interest. In this togetherness, we must have commitment; we cannot do things as we like. A big work also needs a big tray. A great thing can happen if small and separated things are unified. Unity determines a transformation. Defining churches that are not denominative enables the elimination of obstacles or boundaries in creating unity and togetherness so that synergy of power in the church can take place despite the varieties of church expression. 5. Praise, Pray, and Worship Praise and worship whose foundation is the love for God and others. Praying is how we communicate with God. Prayer is deeper than words because it has already been in our soul before being expressed in words. With prayer, we welcome Jesus to get involved in all our needs. Praise is our declaration about God’s goodness and God’s miracles. All praises belong to God only, whereas worship is a special close relationship between God and us, an expression of love, our glorification, worship and our obedient to God. Those five things are the ones that equip a person to be involved in transformation by being a transformation agent or transformer. CONCLUSION Five things needed by a transformer are: humility, sincere faith, a holy life, unity, and a life in prayer, praise and worship to God. REFLECTION Do we want to be sincere tools of transformation and want to be molded according to His will? COMMITMENT As Isaiah said, “It’s me, Send me!” Let your will happen in my life.
